Food Network Cookbooks - Find Your Favorite TV Chef's Book!

I watch the Food Network TV channel all the time, and quite frankly, their shows and Star Chefs have helped me stay interested in good old home cookin'! Here's a quick list of some of the popular Food Network Cookbooks. Find your favorite chef and get cookin'!

* Please note that the only book I have is Ina's "Back To Basics", which I highly recommend as a great cookbook.  The others are of course from very familiar TV chefs that I enjoy watching, but I have not personally used their cookbooks yet.  However I did see nearly all of them have had great customer reviews.  This post was just a fun one to quickly list out cookbooks from the Food Network Star Chefs!

Best Cookbooks For Beginners

The best cookbooks for beginners absolutely need easy, awesome tasting recipes, as well as clear easy-to-follow instructions and information.  Find success with these recommended beginner's cookbooks, and start enjoying great homemade family meals!

America's Test Kitchen Family Cookbook
Great for beginners and experienced cooks!  This is the one cookbook every home should have.  Hundreds of awesome, great tasting recipes!  And just as important, tons of tips and cooking education that will improve your home culinary skills and cooking knowledge.

The Way To Cook (by Julia Child)
Julia Child is one of the most respected pioneers in home cooking education and instruction!  Although published nearly 20 years ago, it is still considered one of the best.  With heavy French/European influence, Julia focused on beginning cooks with little experience.  Her instruction and use of photos makes this book great for beginners!

Back To Basics (by Ina Garten)
Also known as the Barefoot Contessa, I became a fan of Ina's Food Network TV show.   As the title suggests, Ina turns simple ingredients into great tasting meals!  Like my other recommendations for beginner's, this book provides great education and photos too!

The Pioneer Woman Cooks:  Recipe From An Accidental Country Girl (by Ree Drummond)
This book has been #1 on several Bestseller's Lists, including the New York Times!  Her story is as fun and flavorful as her Southern style recipes.  Many customer reviews enjoyed this book as a "beginner's cookbook", as Ree inserts photos throughout the steps of her recipes.

Of course, as with all America's Test Kitchen's efforts, every recipe in this book has been thoroughly tested and reviewed by their expert kitchen and cooking staff.  Virtually every recipe I have followed produces a great tasting dish every time! Whether it's from their cookbooks, magazines (Cook's Illustrated and Cook's Country), their popular TV show or their website, it is clear that they publish recipes that consistently work, and are easy to follow and execute.

The America's Test Kitchen Family Baking Book, similar to their Family Cookbook, is a heavy-duty ring-bound book, printed on heavy strong pages that can withstand the wear-and-tear in a kitchen over time.  Another nice feature is how they highlight which recipes are great for new beginners that are just starting to learn how to cook.

I hope you enjoy this book as much as I have, and can start preparing some incredible meals for you and your family!  You'll love the Family Baking Book, and I bet you'll be reaching for it more often than you think.

A Peak Into America's Test Kitchen, The Author Behind Our Favorite Best Selling Cookbooks

If you're not familiar with Christopher Kimball, America's Test Kitchen or Cook's Illustrated, here is a great video of Mr. Christopher Kimball on a CBS Early Show, doing an article on "Easy, Healthy, Quick and Affordable Meals".  From this short article alone, you'll be tempted to try out a recipe.  (I made the first dish with salmon and asparagus and it was a great fast dinner!)

I wanted to post this video, because it gives you a sense of what America's Test Kitchen is about.  The video is indicative of the quality content you get in their best-selling cookbooks, such as their Family Cookbook and Family Baking Book.

Christopher Kimball signed our Family Cookbook!

We even went to Christopher Kimball's Book signing event in Chicago.  (Yeah, we're big fans :-)

Every recipe we've tried so far in this book has come out great!  And there are tons of cooking education articles and tips throughout the book that have really improved the taste and quality of our homemade meals.
